What can I expect?

The Accommodation

The wagons offer a traditional double bed as well as a smaller space in a ‘cupboard’ underneath the bed for two children under 11years old (closing the ‘cupboard’ doors, optional!). As well as sleeping space, the gypsy caravans offer cosy seating and limted storage space.

Outdoor cooking

A fire circle is set up including a ‘chitty’ (a tripod to hang your kettle, skillet or pot – all provided) surrounded by seating on wood trunks. A ‘camp fire box’ is provided which includes newspaper, kindling, firelighters, matches and a gas igniter together with your initial supply of firewood. A nominal┬ácharge for additional wood is applicable.

Cwtsh Calon summer house

Although guests are encouraged to embrace the ‘gypsy’ life and enjoy the experience of cooking over an open fire, a gas hob with two rings and a grill is available for cooking indoors. There is also a worktop for preparing meals and an area for washing up. There is also a table and chairs, books, local tourist information, maps, games, picnic blankets and rugs all available in Cwtsh Calon. Homemade Welsh Cakes will await your arrival.
